<p>Aline&#8217;s kokeshi shown here above &#8211; I&#8217;m melting &#8211; is currently shown in LA at <a href="http://www.janm.org/exhibits/kokeshi/">the Japanese American National Museum</a>. Lucky you if you can go there. A kokeshi exhibition: I&#8217;m jealous !</p>

<p>Kokeshis are japanese wooden dolls, probably inspired by russian <a href="http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2008/08/matrioshka_printables.html?CMP=OTC-5JF307375954" target="_blank">matrioshkas</a>. They are soooo adorable. My favorite are those that come in rounded shapes but shapes and sizes vary a lot. The important thing is that they are cute <img src='http://blogs.atelier-media.net/freshtouch/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>China also has a wooden lucky dolls tradition that we mostly know through the miniature charms some of us used to wear in our hair when we were children. In French they are called &#8220;puces&#8221; and I&#8217;ve been looking for them for more one a year now. I&#8217;m not the only nostalgic of these little charms, as you can see, <a href="http://lesfleurs.canalblog.com/archives/puces/index.html" target="_blank">someone even decided to reedit them</a> (but at too high a price for me).</p>

<p><span style="color: #be0d3b">Les kokeshis sont des poupées en bois japonaises, tirant probablement leur origine des <a href="http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2008/08/matrioshka_printables.html?CMP=OTC-5JF307375954" target="_blank">matrioshkas</a> russes. Elles sont vraiment mimi. Mes préférées sont en forme de galet mais il en existe de toutes formes, tailles et styles. L&#8217;important, c&#8217;est leur degré de kawaiitude, généralement élevé <img src='http://blogs.atelier-media.net/freshtouch/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </span></p>
<p><span style="color: #be0d3b">La Chine a également une tradition de poupées en bois porte-bonheur que certaines d&#8217;entre nous connaissent surtout via leur version miniature, les &#8220;puces&#8221;. J&#8217;en cherche des vraies, des chinoises depuis quelques temps déjà et je ne suis pas la seule&#8230; <a href="http://lesfleurs.canalblog.com/archives/puces/index.html" target="_blank">Une réedition made in France</a> existe (mais à des prix prohibitifs un peu quand même).<br />
